Wyland, born in Detroit, Michigan, is a celebrated American artist renowned for his ocean-themed works. After studying sculpture and painting at the Center for Creative Studies, he moved to California, where he refined his artistic skills. There, he focused on marine life, a theme that would become central to his career.

In addition to his artwork, Wyland is a passionate advocate for marine conservation. Through his Wyland Foundation, he supports various environmental initiatives. Notably, the “100 Whaling Walls” mural project spans 12 countries and reaches over one billion people annually. He has also written and published 20 books about his art and conservation efforts.

Wyland’s contributions to art and conservation have earned him global recognition. He has received honors from the United Nations, the Sierra Club, and the Underwater Academy of Arts and Sciences. Through his art, Wyland continues to inspire and raise awareness about the importance of protecting marine life.
